Panic Measures in Education! Saw this 1948 magazine at a flea market today. It describe problems in teaching from the perspective of women who formed the majority of teachers but who faced discrimination. I know lots has changed but would be interested to hear views from current female teachers?
Ran a workshop today for secondary school physics teachers on using research to improve learning. As we went through how to find relevant literature and critically evaluate was again struck by how difficult it is to actually investigate classroom practice.
So it turns out that ChatGPT (GPT-4) can now pass a physics degree in the UK and get a 2:1.

I have learned something interesting this morning from recent paper in Physics Education. The colour of a hot object does not affect how quickly it heats up or cools down. The idea of black objects absorbing more radiation works with visible light but not infra-red. I am sure I should have known this before , but… wow…
